Languages Other Than English offered at the school include Japanese, French and German, taught from Years 7-12. The knowledge of a language other than English is a valuable asset in Australia today – a multicultural country which is looking increasingly for economic opportunities overseas. Languages Other Than English are part of the Creative Arts/LOTE Faculty at Sydney Technical High School.
The school Music course and Performing Ensembles program runs from Years 7-12 and aim to enrich the individual student with knowledge and practical experience to become wholly skilled in this artform. Music curriculum is based around the skills of performance, composition, aural and musicology.
Visual Arts is studied from Year 7 onwards and nurtures creative thinking, visual communication skills and high order research, analysis and interpretation strategies. Visual Arts curriculum aims to promote independent and autonomous learning and resourcefulness, through the skills of art making, art history and art criticism.
