The 2019 Metropolitan South Operational Directorate Network Awards were held on 21 November 2019 at Ashfield Boys High School. This is an annual event that acknowledges and celebrates the fine contributions members of our school communities make for our students, our schools and to public education.

Congratulations to our very deserving award recipients Ms Gandhi Gunasekaran in the School Administrative and Support Staff category, Mr Warren Mak in the Parent or Community Member category and Sydney Technical High School in the Community of Schools category for our work and collaboration as part of the Kogarah Cluster (St George Girls High School, Kogarah High School, Moorefield Girls High School, James Cook Boys High School and Blakehurst High School).

We are so proud of Nehal Nafcy, the 2019 winner of the SBS Bangla National Languages Competition in the 16-18 years category! Well done, Nehal.

Over the school holidays, teachers from the PDHPE, Science, Social Sciences, History, Creative Arts, Languages and English faculties ran holiday lessons for Year 12 to prepare them for their upcoming trial HSC examinations. Thank you to the staff who dedicated time to make it happen!

HSC Business Studies students had an exciting day learning about the competitive marketing practices used by the NRL - National Rugby League and the thorough operational planning that occurs at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

Well done to the 20 students who made the effort on their last Sunday of the holidays to run the Payce Sutherland to Surf 11km fun run!

Congratulations to Winston in Year 12 who ran it in 48mins 🏆

A massive thank you to Miss Bilton and Miss Johnston who braved the early and cold morning to help out with organisation.
