Our Year 12 students have been taking advantage of the holidays, with Biology enrichment classes and Legal Studies revision classes taking place. Thanks to our dedicated teachers for donating their time!
Congratulations to our Year 10 students who participated in the first round of the Science and Engineering Challenge at Olympic Park at the end of last month, which was organised by the University of Newcastle. The team of 32 Year 10 students came first in five activities against other schools. The activities are Engineering related, and require skills, teamwork, creativity and practical skills. We are waiting eagerly to hear if they have secured enough points to go onto the regional competition next term.
Accelerated Business Studies students met with Minister for Foreign Affairs, Marise Payne, and food ambassador, Adam Liaw, at the launch of the public diplomacy program "Australia Now" on 19 March 2019. The program aims to strengthen and deepen bilateral ties, raise Australia's profile as an innovative, creative nation and build understanding beyond our landscape and lifestyle. It is developing business opportunities and building relationships with the countries of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Congratulations to all the prizewinners at our 2018 Presentation Day on February 15th.
We welcomed Michael Tomilaris as our keynote speaker, a Tech Old Boy from the class of 1978. He is one of the longest-serving members of the team behind SBS Sports and is the anchor fronting the Australian public television broadcaster's cycling programs.
Presentation Day ran very smoothly thanks to the organisational efforts of Mr Trotman and Ms Feigen. There were some outstanding music performances, thanks to Mr Gamage, and Miguel Mariano performed a musical solo. Thanks to our many parents, P&C and special guests for celebrating our outstanding academic achievements of 2018 with us.
